K – Przedostaliśmy się z Chin do Malezji, od razu czuć delikatne rozprężenie, być może to kwestia temperatury, 44’C w dzień i 33′ w nocy. Celnik nawet nie spojrzał na mnie, podbił pieczątkę i kazał iść dalej.

Parę dni w Kuala Lumpur zupełnie wystarczy, polecieliśmy dalej na Borneo, z daleka od dużych miast.

N- Kuala Lumpur to totalny mix kulturowo-religijny! Muzułmanie, Chrześcijanie, Buddyści, Hinduiści – wszyscy żyją tu wydaje się w pełnej symbiozie. Z rana słychać hipnotyzujące nawoływania z meczetu, obok zaraz stoi wielka świątynia buddyjska a wieczorem widać grupkę osób wybierających się na mszę w kościele katolickim. Mieszkają tu ludzie z Chin, Indii, Filipin, Indonezji, Tajlandii a do tego spora grupa Amerykanów i ludzi z Europy. Każdy mówi po angielsku plus ciężko znaleźć tu nie-anglojęzyczny magazyn/książkę lub produkt. Dla mnie jest to wielka odmiana po kraju w którym rozmowa po angielsku zazwyczaj ograniczała się do ‘what is your name’ i ‘yes’ lub ‘no’ a zakupy w sklepie zawsze były wielkim wyzwaniem. Nie wspominając o braku różnorodności kulturowej bądź religijnej.

N- We made it from China all over to Malaysia, we feel more relaxed straight away, maybe it is because of the temp, 44 degrees during the day and 33 at night.  Crossing the border was easy, nobody even looked at me.

Couple of days in Kuala Lumpur is more than enough, we went further to Borneo Island, away from a big city.

N- Kuala Lumpur is a total cultural and religious mix! Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Hinduists – everyone seems to live here in an amazing symbiosis. You can hear calls from the mosque in the morning, next to it there is a massive Buddhist temple and in the evening, you can notice a group of Catholics going to the mass. People from all over the world live here – China, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and also a big group of Americans and people from Europe. Everyone speaks English and it is difficult to find a non-English magazine/newspaper or a product. It is a big change for me after living in a place where English conversation was restricted to ‘what is your name’ or ‘yes’ and ‘no’ and going shopping was always a big challenge. Not mentioning the lack of cultural or religious diversity.
